Brand systems, cover art, posters, and paintings — digital and traditional, sweet and moody.

Also in the drawer: custom game-UI theme packs, stream overlay packages, and client work still under wraps. Ask and I’ll bring them out.
Services
What the studio makes
Four core offerings — and if your idea doesn’t fit a box, custom commissions are always open. Everything is quoted per project, with a timeline, before anything starts.
Brand identity & logos
A mark that feels like you, and a system that holds it together. Every identity ships with a full guide and a one-page field guide — the long one justifies the decisions, the short one is what actually gets pinned up.
- Logo suites & monograms
- Full brand guides & manuals
- One-page field guide
- Packaging & collateral
- Stationery & apparel
Good fit forBusinesses, teams and studios that need to look consistent in places you won’t be standing.
Book & print design
Designed cover to cover, inside and out. Covers, jackets, spines, and the interiors most designers skip — typeset in full against a real trim size, with live bleed and a spine width calculated from the page count, not guessed.
- Cover art, jackets & interiors
- Full interior typesetting
- Posters & gig art
- Menus, calendars & editorial
- Print-ready PDF/X output
Good fit forAuthors, small presses, restaurants, and anyone whose work has to survive a printer.
Game & stream graphics
Interfaces and overlays with real personality. Most stream and UI packs are a filter over a template. These are drawn: a theme with its own ornament, its own type, and states that still read at 1080p on a busy scene.
- Custom game-UI themes
- Stream overlays, panels & scenes
- Emotes, badges & banners
- Alert and transition art
Good fit forStreamers, indie game teams, and anyone tired of the same three marketplace packs.
Illustration & fine art
Digital or in acrylic — from cozy to dramatic. Everything starts analog: penciled borders, brushy studies, palettes pulled from fruit and flowers rather than a swatch library. Then it gets built properly.
- Editorial & cover illustration
- Still life & commissioned paintings
- Hand-drawn motifs & borders
- Botanical frames & ornament sets
Good fit forPublishers, art directors, and people who want one real painting on a wall.
How it works
How a commission works
Every project follows four steps, so you always know where things stand.
Say hello
Tell me what you’re dreaming of — moods, references, deadline. I’ll reply with a quote and timeline.
You bring: a rough description, any references you love, and the date it has to exist by.
Sketch
Rough concepts to react to. We pick a direction together before anything gets polished.
You bring: honest first reactions. “Not that one, and I don’t know why” is useful.
Refine
The chosen concept gets polished, with two rounds of revisions included, so it lands exactly right.
You bring: consolidated feedback — one list, from everyone who gets an opinion.
Deliver
Final files in every format you need — print-ready, web-ready, packaged with care.
You bring: somewhere to keep the folder that isn’t just your laptop.
About
Hi, I’m Allison
I’m a graphic designer and illustrator, and Chicory is my studio. I work across the whole table — brand manuals and logo suites, book covers with matching interiors, gig posters, menus, custom game-interface themes, stream packages, and paintings in both pixels and acrylic.
Everything starts analog: penciled borders, brushy studies, palettes pulled from fruit, flowers, and warm neutrals. Then it gets built properly — clean vectors, print-ready files, systems that hold up after handoff. If you want design that feels grown rather than generated, you’re in the right place.
The studio used to be called Marigold. Chicory is the same hands and the same rosetta — New Orleans has been roasting chicory root into its coffee since the 1800s, and what started as a way to stretch a short supply became the thing people drive across state lines for. That’s the job: find the particular thing already in your business and make it the first thing people taste.
Questions
Before you email
The things people ask first, answered here so the first message can be about your project instead.
What do you actually make?
Four things, mostly: brand identities and logo systems, book and print design including full interiors, game and stream graphics, and illustration in both digital and acrylic. If your idea doesn’t fit one of those boxes, ask anyway — custom commissions are always open.
How much does a project cost?
Everything is quoted per project rather than priced off a menu, because a logo for a one-person shop and a full identity system for a team that will use it without me are not the same job. Send a description and a deadline and you’ll get a real number, not a range.
How long does it take?
It depends on scope, and you get a timeline together with your quote before anything starts. Typical reply time on a new enquiry is one to two days.
How many revisions do I get?
Two rounds are included in every project, after we’ve already agreed on a direction at the sketch stage. That’s usually plenty, because the expensive disagreements happen before anything is polished.
What files do I get at the end?
Every format the work needs — print-ready and web-ready, packaged properly. Identity projects also get a full brand guide plus the one-page field guide that people actually use.
Do you work remotely?
Yes — remote-friendly, worldwide. Calls over video, files over shared folders.
Can you do game UI or stream packages? I don’t see any here.
Yes — it’s one of the four core services and the portfolio just hasn’t caught up. Ask and I’ll send work that isn’t on the site yet, including client work still under wraps.
Do you take on concept and passion projects?
Some of the work here is self-directed — the Folgers rebrand is an unsolicited concept, and the Austen trio was set for the pleasure of setting it. Good briefs beat big budgets more often than you’d think.
Why the name Chicory?
Because chicory is the ingredient nobody planned for that ends up defining the cup. The studio was Marigold before this — same hands, same rosetta, sharper name.
